As an overall experience it was extremely good. The hotel is quite old but pretty well maintained. The food was excellent. I had dinner and breakfast. Staff are wonderful. The only slight downside was a small shower but it was very clean, as was the room. Excellent value for money.

Met friends for lunch for the first time here and it was warm and welcoming. The service was quick and the meals were enjoyed by all of us. Will definitely go again

Hotel and rooms very tired and needs some investment, saying that the staff were brilliant and the location is good (although Swaffham is very very quiet after 6pm).
We had dinner in the restaurant, the food was very nice.
Our friends room on the 3rd floor (103) was very noisy from the church over the road (even with the windows shut and the curtains drawn), we stayed in room (104) which was a really good size for the price (£113 with breakfast) it was clean although a bit tired (wallpaper, curtains and general decor), the bed was very comfortable, the shower was terrible (no pressure at all).
Breakfast was great value.
Don't be put off staying here as its great value for money if you're staying in the area.

A wonderful stay here at the George, staff were nice and welcoming, bedroom was huge plus we had a lovely bath which is becoming more rare these days. Super impressed with the evening meal which I highly recommend, go for the Steak Pie!

Popped in to get some food, and was incredibly surprised how good the quality and presentation was. The staff were accommodating and the outdoor seating was great. Certainly recommend the food.

Very very dated, the rooms smelled from the old carpets, not very value for money but not many options in the area, staff were lovely but the entire property needs a serious update

Lovely hotel in the heart of Swaffham. Hosted a two day seminar here and everything asked of the manager (Roxi) was dealt with to a high degree. Food was also excellent. I highly recommend a stay here

Convenient hotel located in the centre of time. I was staying in a twin room, had usual tea/coffee making facilities with complimentary biscuits. Room was reasonably spacious with smart tv so you could sign into Netflix etc. if you could figure how to use the remote as it was not the original but a 'one 4 all' replacement. My main complaint would be that there seemed to be issues with the heating and hot water. Initially upon arrival in the afternoon the room was very hot so I turned down the radiator thermostatic valve. When I returned in the evening the room had cooled considerably (my stay was in late February barely 5°C outside), I turned the valve back up but the radiator did not heat up as it seemed the heating had been turned off (the pipes were cold). The system was probably on a timer and the heating was shut down at night because in the morning the radiators worked again. To compound the issue there was a lack of hot water in the bathroom on our final morning. I made the staff aware and learnt it was a new boiler, maybe it had some teething problems? The maintenance man happened to be there when I was informing the staff, he was quite abrupt and rambled on about having to run the taps for a couple of minutes and how it was a brand new boiler, I told him I did but he was not satisfied until he went to check for himself which i personally found quite insulting. The receptionist had to apologise for his attitude. Be sure to book a table if you intend to choose to have an evening meal as the restaurant is not limited to staying guests. On the plus side the breakfasts were good with a range of cereals, fruit, toast etc. available in addition to the cooked options which were quite fast. On balance it's an OK place to stay, it's 3 * rating is justified.

Location is very good, nice big car park, staff very friendly and food very nice, though only had breakfast. The only small downside is rooms( well certainly ours) dated.
